As someone who likes the 'waif thin' look and frequently feels guilty for it, I'd encourage you... not to do it. I know it's fashionable and guys like me tend to like that sort of thing, but it's not real and when it comes right down to it, it's not healthy for most people either. That kind of thin requires depriving your body of appropriate nutrients in most cases and/or allowing your muscles to atrophy.

I know a few people that come by it (mostly) naturally, but one of them has been doing martial arts for 13+ years and has the genes, and the other just has the genes and likes running. A mixture of tai chi, muay thai, aikido, push hands and/or yoga tends to do a lot for your muscle tone and can lead to the development of full body coordination. That helps tremendously to give the impression of a delicate wispy body. When you've practiced yielding and striking and learned to combine them (Oftentimes the yielding is the hardest part.) it allows you to project a wispy/willowy demeanor and body movement that (I think) is far more attractive and definitely more healthy.

Full disclosure: This is coming from someone who's only been doing martial arts for ~1 year and spends FAR more time practicing muay thai striking than push hands and tai chi yielding. :) I've watched people who do both fairly extensively and am always impressed by how calm and delicate, even fragile they seem.

That said, the really good ones can generate more force and power than those of us who study exclusively striking arts.

Generally if it's the kind of subject that's so touchy it can barely be broached (if one partner cheats or asks for an open relationship, etc) the only recourse that tends to help is couples counseling. And it needs to be a psychiatrist or counselor that has some experience with those types of situations and is willing to meet with the people individually if necessary. Sometimes it's hardest to say things in front of someone you love.

That said, also from experience: if it's a case of having been cheated on, it frequently cannot be resolved. Some things (for some people) just aren't forgivable. Even if the person they cheated on you with is out of the picture.

Being honest is what the internet is for. Imagine if we had no such freedom to express...we might actually have to tell the people in our lives who screw with us how we feel and I don't know about you but I will avoid confrontation whenever possible lol. As for amusing stories about the trials and tribulations of wedding planning.. not as funny as they seem, I was in therapy for 6 months to deal with the evens leading up to my wedding hehe :)

I used to be like that. I wouldn't really call it pessimism. I just think I took the 'good' things for granted. It wasn't until things started happening to my health and my family that I became grateful and appreciated these things more.

You also could've answered the question by referring to extreme negatives, like:

- at least I'm not not in jail
- at least I'm not a politician who got sacked for looking at porn at work
- at least I'm not stuck in a mine with 33 other guys
